These Terms of Use form a binding legal agreement between you and Korassa, governing your access to and use of the Korassa mobile application, related websites, APIs, and services. Please read them carefully — by using Korassa, you agree to be bound by them.
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a binding legal agreement between you ("you" or "User") and company legal name ("Korassa," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Korassa mobile application, related websites, APIs, and services (together, the "Services").
By creating an account, signing in (including in guest mode), or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
These Terms are governed by, and shall be interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, including:
- The Egyptian Civil Code;
- Law No. 15 of 2004 on Electronic Signatures and the establishment of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA);
- Law No. 175 of 2018 on Combating Cybercrime;
- Law No. 151 of 2020 on Personal Data Protection and its Executive Regulations;
- Law No. 181 of 2018 on Consumer Protection and its Executive Regulations;
- Law No. 17 of 1999 on Trade ("Egyptian Commercial Code");
- Law No. 226 of 1996 on Tax (and successor legislation), where applicable;
- Other applicable Egyptian laws and regulations,
without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you reside.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account in your own name and enter into these Terms.
If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may use the Services only with the involvement, consent, and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf and accepts responsibility for your use of the Services. We may require verifiable parental consent (in line with our Privacy Policy and Egyptian PDPL Executive Regulations Article 3) and may suspend or restrict accounts where verification cannot be completed.
The Services are not intended for, and may not be used by, children under 13 years old.
2.2 Capacity
By using the Services you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the laws applicable to you, that you are not barred from receiving the Services under the laws of any jurisdiction (including any sanctions regime), and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.
2.3 Geographic Availability
The Services are offered globally with primary coverage in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Some payment methods, languages, and features are available only in specific regions. We reserve the right to limit availability of the Services in any jurisdiction and at any time.
3. The Services — What Korassa Is and Is Not
Korassa is a personal-finance journaling and budgeting tool. It helps you:
- Record income and expense transactions you choose to enter;
- Plan recurring expenses, loans, ROSCAs (jam'eyat), lending arrangements, and strategic purchases;
- Track investments you have manually entered;
- Share categories of expenses with other users you invite;
- Set monthly budgets and analyze your own spending patterns;
- Receive reminders for due payments.
3.1 Korassa Is NOT a Financial Institution
Korassa is not a bank, payment institution, electronic-money issuer, broker, investment adviser, financial planner, tax adviser, lawyer, or religious authority. We do not hold, transmit, custody, lend, or invest your money. We do not connect to your bank accounts. We do not execute trades. We do not issue loans, credit, or insurance. We do not collect, hold, or process your real-money flows; the App is a private notebook for your own records.
The Services do not constitute, and must not be relied on as, financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or religious advice. Any number, projection, savings target, Zakat estimate, ROSCA payout calculation, or category suggestion shown in the App is a simple arithmetic computation based on data you entered, provided as informational support only, and may contain errors. You should consult a qualified, licensed professional before making any financial, investment, tax, legal, or religious decision.
3.2 Zakat and Religious Calculations
The App's Zakat-preference feature performs simple arithmetic and applies thresholds you have configured. It does not represent a fatwa or religious ruling. For binding religious guidance, consult a qualified scholar.
3.3 No Bank or Card Connection
Korassa does not integrate with any Egyptian or international financial institution, payment scheme, card issuer, or payment service provider to fetch your real account or card data. All financial entries in the App are made by you, manually, from your own knowledge.
4. Account Registration and Security
4.1 Creating an Account
You may use the Services in guest mode (no email required) or by creating a full account with an email and password, or by signing in via Google or Apple.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration;
- Keep your password (and any device PIN or biometric) confidential;
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account;
- Promptly notify us at security@korassa.com of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
4.2 One Account per Person
You may not create more than one account, share your account, or sell, transfer, or assign your account to another person, without our prior written consent.
4.3 Account Suspension and Termination by Us
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, with or without prior notice, if:
- You materially breach these Terms;
- We reasonably believe your use of the Services is fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful;
- We are required to do so by a competent authority or by applicable law;
- Your account has been inactive for a prolonged period and we have given reasonable notice;
- We are forced to discontinue the Services in your jurisdiction.
Where lawful and practicable, we will give you advance notice and an opportunity to export your data before terminating your account.
4.4 Termination by You
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time, via Settings → Account → Delete Account or by emailing privacy@korassa.com. See our Privacy Policy for retention details after deletion.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
5.1 Free and Paid Tiers
The Services are offered in a free tier and three paid tiers:
| Tier | Monthly Cashflow Quota | Monthly Price | Annual Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 30,000 EGP | — | — |
| Starter | 50,000 EGP | 99 EGP | 999 EGP |
| Pro | 100,000 EGP | 199 EGP | 1,999 EGP |
| Unlimited | Unlimited | 399 EGP | 3,999 EGP |
Prices, quotas, and tiers may change. We will give reasonable advance notice of any change to the price of an active subscription, and the change will only apply at your next renewal — never to a billing cycle you have already paid for.
The "monthly cashflow quota" measures the sum of the absolute values of the financial entries you record in a calendar month (across transactions, lending transactions, and investment incomes, with linked entries de-duplicated). When you exceed the quota, totals and dashboards are temporarily hidden from view, but you can continue recording entries; the dashboards are restored on the next quota reset, or immediately if you upgrade.
5.2 Billing Through App Stores
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Google Play Billing (Android) and Apple App Store StoreKit (iOS), with subscription state managed by RevenueCat, Inc. Charges, taxes, refunds, currency conversions, and cancellations are governed by the terms of the relevant store:
- Google Play — play.google.com/about/play-terms
- Apple Media Services — apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes
You are responsible for any charges incurred via your store account. We do not have direct access to your card or banking details.
5.3 Renewals
Paid subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for the same term, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal (or as otherwise required by your store's terms). To cancel, manage your subscription in the relevant app store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep access to the paid features until then.
5.4 Trials and Promotional Offers
We may offer free trials, introductory pricing (for example, a discounted first month), or promotional codes. Any specific terms (eligibility, duration, non-stacking, expiry, restrictions on payment method) will be presented at the point of offer. Promotional discounts cannot be exchanged for cash and may be revoked if obtained through fraud, abuse, or breach of these Terms.
5.5 Refunds
Refunds for subscriptions are governed by the policies of the app store from which you purchased. We do not process refunds directly. Notwithstanding any "no-refund" rule of an app store, where Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018 or other applicable mandatory consumer law grants you a refund, withdrawal, or rescission right (for example, the seven-day right of withdrawal for digital services not yet performed), that right is preserved. To request such a refund directly from us, write to support@korassa.com with proof of purchase.
5.6 Taxes
Prices are inclusive of value-added tax (VAT) and other applicable taxes where indicated. Where prices are quoted exclusive of taxes, the applicable taxes will be added at checkout by the relevant app store.
5.7 Personalized Pricing (When Activated)
We may, in the future, offer personalized discounts based on signals such as your in-App savings rate or category mix, only with your explicit, granular opt-in. You can opt out at any time and request the standard, non-personalized price. See the Privacy Policy, Sections 5 and 6.
5.8 Carrier Billing in Egypt
In Egypt, Google Play allows payment via direct carrier billing on Vodafone, Etisalat, and Orange Egypt. Charges through carrier billing are subject to your operator's terms and may appear on your mobile bill or be deducted from your prepaid balance. If you have a billing dispute, contact your operator first; if unresolved, contact us at support@korassa.com.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Services to:
- Violate any applicable law, including the Egyptian Anti-Cybercrime Law No. 175 of 2018, anti-money-laundering laws, sanctions regimes, or any tax, foreign-exchange, or financial-services law;
- Engage in fraud, deception, or impersonation, including impersonating any person or entity or misrepresenting your relationship with any person or entity;
- Upload, record, or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, threatening, harassing, infringing, or that violates the privacy or rights of any person;
- Record or transmit personal data of third parties without a lawful basis (you are responsible for the data of people you add to your lending tracker or invite to a shared category);
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the limited extent expressly permitted by mandatory law;
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with security or quota-enforcement features of the Services;
- Probe, scan, attack, or test the vulnerability of any system or network used by the Services without our prior written consent;
- Send any virus, worm, malicious code, or other harmful component;
- Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, harvesters) to access the Services or extract data, other than the public APIs we expressly publish;
- Use the Services to develop a competing product, or to train an artificial intelligence or machine-learning model, without our prior written consent;
- Use the Services in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure or interfere with another user's use of the Services;
- Use the Services to facilitate or conceal money laundering, financing of terrorism, sanctions evasion, gambling, narcotics, or any other unlawful activity.
We may, at any time and without prior notice, investigate suspected violations and take any action we consider appropriate, including suspending or terminating your account, removing offending content, and reporting to competent authorities.
7. Your Content and Data
7.1 Ownership
As between you and us, you own the financial and personal data you enter into the Services ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
7.2 License You Grant Us
To operate the Services for you, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, copy, transmit, display, and process Your Content, only as necessary to provide, secure, and improve the Services and to comply with law. We do not use Your Content for advertising. We do not sell Your Content. The license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for backups subject to the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.
7.3 Accuracy and Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and propriety of Your Content. We do not pre-screen Your Content but may, at our discretion, remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
7.4 Shared Categories
When you record content in a shared category, you authorize the other members of that category to view, retain, and (where the feature permits) edit that content. Do not record content in a shared category that you are not willing to share with all current and future members of that category.
7.5 Third-Party Personal Data
If you enter another person's name, phone number, email, or other personal data (for example, in the lending tracker or to invite a member to a shared category), you represent that you are authorized to provide that data to us and that doing so does not violate that person's rights or applicable law (including the PDPL and any equivalent law of that person's residence).
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our IP
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Services, including the App, the Korassa name and logo, the Arabic name كراسة, source code, designs, graphics, text, sound, video, databases, trademarks, trade dress, and any patents or trade secrets, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by Egyptian Law No. 82 of 2002 on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights and by international treaties.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the App on a device you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and to the terms of the relevant app store.
You may not, except with our prior written consent or as expressly permitted by mandatory law:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or sublicense any part of the Services;
- Use any of our trademarks or brand elements;
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notice.
8.2 Feedback
If you give us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them for any purpose, without obligation to you.
9. Third-Party Services
The Services rely on, link to, or interoperate with third-party services, including:
- Google Play / Google Sign-In / Firebase / Google Cloud (Google LLC);
- Apple App Store / Sign in with Apple / StoreKit (Apple Inc.);
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.);
- ZeptoMail (Zoho Corporation);
- Mobile network operators in Egypt (Vodafone, Etisalat, Orange) for carrier billing on Google Play.
These services have their own terms and privacy policies. Your use of them is at your own risk and on the terms set by their providers. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers, except as required by mandatory law.
10. Service Availability, Changes, and Beta Features
10.1 No Uptime Guarantee
We aim to keep the Services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access. The Services may be unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, network failures, or events beyond our reasonable control (including force majeure).
10.2 Changes to the Services
We may add, modify, or discontinue any feature of the Services at any time. For paid features, we will not materially reduce a feature you have already paid for during the paid period without offering a prorated refund or credit, except where required by law or for legitimate security reasons.
10.3 Beta and Experimental Features
We may label features as "beta," "preview," "experimental," or similar. Such features are provided "as is," may contain bugs, may be changed or removed at any time, and are not subject to the same service levels as production features. Use them at your own risk.
11. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, OR ACCURACY OF DATA.
We specifically do not warrant that:
- The Services will meet your requirements or expectations;
- Reports, charts, projections, Zakat estimates, ROSCA payouts, savings targets, or any other figure shown in the App is accurate, complete, or fit for any decision;
- The Services will be free of bugs, security vulnerabilities, or harmful components;
- Synced or backed-up data will always be available, complete, or recoverable;
- Reminders or notifications will be delivered on time or at all.
Nothing in this Section limits any non-excludable warranty or right you have under applicable mandatory law (including Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018).
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
(a) NEITHER PARTY WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUES, LOST GOODWILL, LOST OR CORRUPTED DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
(b) OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES, IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE, WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US (THROUGH AN APP STORE, AS APPLICABLE) FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (ii) ONE HUNDRED EGYPTIAN POUNDS (EGP 100).
The limitations in this Section do not apply to:
- Liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- Liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- Liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable mandatory law (including the Egyptian Civil Code and Consumer Protection Law).
You acknowledge that we have set our prices, and entered into these Terms, in reliance on the disclaimers and limitations in this Section, that they form a basis of our bargain, and that they would not be commercially reasonable to provide the Services without them.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Korassa, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your breach of these Terms;
- Your violation of any law or third-party right (including intellectual-property and privacy rights);
- Your Content;
- Your use of the Services in a manner not authorized by these Terms.
We will give you prompt notice of any claim, allow you (at your expense) to control the defense and settlement of the claim (provided no settlement requires us to admit liability or pay any sum without our consent), and provide reasonable cooperation.
14. Force Majeure
Neither party will be liable for any delay or failure to perform that results from causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, war, civil disturbance, strike, pandemic, governmental action, internet or telecommunications failures, cyberattacks, embargoes, or sanctions.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by, and shall be interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
15.2 Informal Resolution
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@korassa.com with a description of your dispute and your contact details, and to negotiate in good faith for at least 30 days to resolve the matter.
15.3 Jurisdiction
Subject to Section 15.4, you and we agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, and you waive any objection based on inconvenient forum or improper venue.
15.4 Mandatory Consumer Rules
Nothing in this Section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you reside. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence; you may also use the European Commission's online dispute-resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
15.5 Class-Action Waiver (Where Permitted)
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, claims will be brought solely on an individual basis and not as part of any class, consolidated, or representative action. This Section does not apply where prohibited by mandatory law (including in Egypt where applicable).
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes:
- By updating the "Last Updated" date at the top;
- By posting a notice in the App and on our website;
- For material changes that affect your rights, by emailing you and giving you at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
If you do not agree to the new Terms, you may stop using the Services and delete your account before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
17. Miscellaneous
17.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any document expressly incorporated by reference, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services, and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject matter.
17.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the invalid provision will be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intent.
17.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
17.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any of your rights or obligations under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, with notice to you.
17.5 Notices

- In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who will refund the purchase price (if any), and Apple has no other warranty obligation;
